Report effluent spills in 'Operation Green Line'

We all know that stock effluent on the road is annoying and dangerous. It’s slippery, filthy, and can completely ruin a ride.

MOTONZ takes stock effluent spills seriously, and will act on behalf of the motorcyclist community to address this hazard.

We want to know every time you run into crap on the road – minor or major, new or old, wet or dry. If you can identify vehicles spilling effluent, even better. With your input we can get a clearer view of where the problems are, how bad they are, how often they are happening, and how many motorcyclists are affected.

Last year’s effort resulted in two prosecutions – which is just the kind of thing that will encourage the livestock industry to apply the practices and regulations they have put in place.  The industry has made great strides in improving the situation over recent years, but we’re still keen to see further progress. Getting intelligence back from road users is an important part of this project.

So, do your bit to report effluent on the roads, and we’ll do our bit to get the problem sorted.

MOTONZ will :

  • contact the relevant council and/or NZTA and follow up to see what action has been taken
  • send all the reports to the National Stock Effluent Working Group
  • let you know the result of these actions – we will follow up and report on outcomes.

If you've seen a 'green line' on the roads you can file a report right now, it takes less than a minute to complete.
